Microsoft Hardware / Starck Mouse

Microsoft enlisted French designer Philippe Starck to create a bold new version of its optical mouse, and they asked Radarworks to help build excitement and interest around the launch of the new product: Microsoft Optical Mouse by Starck.

Microsoft also needed packaging for the Starck mouse that was just as visually intriguing as the teaser campaign. Radarworks responded with a square package with a brushed metal appearance that sets it apart from all other mouse packagings. The border on the front of the box forms a picture frame, treating the mouse like the work of art that it is. The mouse itself features a unique oval design divided into two hemispheres by a lighted strip in either blue or orange. The packaging emphasizes the uniqueness of the design with a clear plastic window that is molded to the shape of the mouse.
